Captive

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

It’s Friday again. Hope you have been having a great week of writing. But if not, what’s holding you back?

Are your thoughts held ‘captive’? Are the words not flowing? Many things can hold us back from being our best at writing.

We can be held captive by many things…our past, expectations from others, rejection, depression, fear of failure, withholding forgiveness…and the list goes on.

Our negative perspective on life comes from what holds us back; or what cages us.

If your thoughts are held captive, write your way out.

On the other hand, have you ever been captivated by a good book? song? or natures beautiful view?

What are your thoughts on the photo or the word ‘captive‘?  Please share. I look forward to seeing your interpretation of this.

Temporary Fog

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

It’s hard to believe I’ve not posted since March 2017. I’m so sorry. Please forgive. Free Flow Friday is back and I appreciate the new followers. I hope you bring a new perspective to this site.

Sometimes our journey through life has a foggy perception with many uncertainties and unanswered questions.  Sometimes it seems like a never-ending maze with a periwinkle haze. You know…that haze that temporarily obstructs your vision of what’s ahead and what to do…

That is where I’ve been. Life has taken some twists and turns in 2017. Caught up in a fog and your only option is to ride it out. With the new year upon us, I can honestly say the fog has lifted.

What are your thoughts on the photo or the word ‘haze/fog?’  Please share. I look forward to seeing your interpretation of this.

Feel free to use the photo or edit the color as needed.

Undecided?

Hello Everyone,

I realize it’s not Friday, but considering that I’ve been so late and far behind on this blog…thought I would post on Wednesday…you know…2 steps forward 1 step back. LOL

Hope you enjoy this one.

…and much like the sky, we can sometimes be undecided…

Photo Writing Prompt:  Sometimes in life, we can face moments when we just wish we didn’t have to decide. Decisions can be tough, unclear and unsettling.

Much like the sky and the beauty of its surrounding elements,  being undecided reveals an unfinished story. And sometimes, the most obvious of answers are the hardest ones to see.

What are your thoughts on the photo?  Please finish the story by using the word “undecided” or use a prompt that works for you. Feel free to use the photo and please share your post.

Moments to Memories

Every Friday, a quote, image, music clip, word or writing prompt will be posted. Use these as a way to unblock and enhance your creative thinking skills.

There are no rules. Find your right moment in the day or week to write with little to no distractions. Use a pen, pencil, keyboard or whatever fits the mood and just write. WRITE. WRITE. WRITE. I prefer pen, (blue ink) rather than my computer. My thoughts seem to flow faster when my pen hits the page.

Express all those buried, unconscious thoughts within the deepest part of your mind. You may use the timer provided below as you write. But whatever you do, don’t stop until the time is up. Keep the flow going. Do this as often as you choose. The more you write the more you unlock the block. Once you feel you have a creative flow, take something from your writing and turn it into your own masterpiece.

This event will occur every Friday, so check back for the weekly prompt.
If you have used a prompt and posted on your blog, link back to this page.

Once you’ve published your post, you can leave a link to your post in the comments section of that particular prompt used.

Please don’t post and run. Be sure to stick around to support others with positive feedback.

Your comments, suggestions and questions are welcomed. Please remember to be respectful with your words to keep the positive flowing

Photo Writing Prompt:  The seashells photo was taken from my morning walk today along the beach front at Kitty Hawk, NC. The sun was warm with an easy breeze. So many shells had washed up from the ocean. I always find them interesting in their vast array of shapes, colors and sizes. Just before walking back to my room, I pocketed a few shells as a memory of my quiet moment with nature. My few seashells turned into a thousand memories.

Now it’s your turn!

Let your words freely flow about any or all of the thoughts listed above. Use any words or phrases from the Free Writing Exercise or write about a memory, quiet moment, or nature photo of your own. You are more than welcome to use the seashell photo, if you choose.
